Dr Rob and Karen are the heads of the training team at the College of Scent Dogs, where they teach ethical and evidence-based methods for Scentwork. Dr Robert Hewings is a retired police dog handler and instructor who has a doctorate in canine scent detection training. He is the author of the best-selling books "Scent Training for Every Dog" and "Tracking for Every Dog". Karen Caton-Hewings is a former explosive search dog handler who worked in the counter-terrorism department of the Metropolitan Police.

Note: working spots are strictly limited and all dogs attending are required to be comfortable resting in a crate plus working in the presence of humans and dogs. IMDT Australia will email you to collect more information about your dog prior to the workshop.

Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred to another person (please advise IMDT Australia if this is to be the case, providing the new attendee’s name and contact details)
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided, attendees are asked to provide their own lunch and additional refreshments.
Only approved dogs are permitted to attend. Those attending with a dog agree that your dog is your responsibility, and you are responsible for their behaviour. All dogs attending our courses are required to be human social, dog social and comfortable working in a group class environment.
Working with dogs involves potential risks, on booking this course, all attendees accept that they interact with the dogs in attendance at their own risk.
Filming and Photography is not permitted without the express permission of IMDT Australia and College of Scent Dogs.
